As an Accommodation Specialist, you’ll apply specialized knowledge and expertise in managing accommodation requests to ensure consistent application of Spectrum’s policies and practices. You’ll focus on reviewing complex medical documentation for temporary and permanent accommodation requests and sharing recommendations that are reasonable and effective. You will have to take a collaborative approach to identify successful solutions; seldom are two days the same.
WHAT OUR ACCOMMODATION SPECIALISTS ENJOY MOST
- Overseeing lower and mid-tier claims, as well as escalated matters within those cases, while performing end-to-end case management through implementation, tracking of accommodation transitions, and follow-up within the accommodations tool
- Supporting internal investigations related to accommodation claims
- Examining medical information to determine if the employee meets the requirements under federal ADA, state, and/or Spectrum requirements for a qualifying condition
- Utilizing relevant and appropriate medical information to assist with identifying and implementing reasonable accommodations through the interactive process
- Producing and analyzing reports and metrics, including ad hoc reports concerning accommodation trends
- Identifying trends and opportunities for process improvements and recommends/documents solutions
- Providing individualized analysis and recommendations of accommodation requests on a case-by-case basis, including engaging in the interactive process
- Educating managers and HR Business Partners on the accommodations process
